Jean Gautreau bought Sociando-Mallet in 1969, when the estate had only a few hectares of vines left, then patiently restored its standing. Since then the cru has cultivated its singular motto: “neither classified nor bourgeois… simply Sociando-Mallet”.
Dark red colour with black and purple glints.
Nose of blackcurrant, plum, violet, cedar and liquorice.
Deep and velvety on the palate, with powdery tannins and a long mineral finish.
